Getting there & getting around

Trecco Bay & Porthcawl

By car

Trecco Bay is just off the A4106 on the outskirts of Porthcawl. From Cardiff, take the M4 west to junction 37, then follow signs for Porthcawl — around 30 minutes door to door. From Swansea, it's a 35-minute drive east on the M4. Parking is available at the park.

By train

The nearest station is Bridgend, around 6 miles away (15 min drive or taxi). Bridgend has regular direct services from Cardiff Central (20 min) and Swansea (25 min). From Bridgend station, taxis to Trecco Bay are readily available and inexpensive.

By bus

The X2 bus service runs between Bridgend and Porthcawl town centre, from where it's a short walk or taxi to Trecco Bay. Services run regularly throughout the day. Check Transport for Wales for current timetables.

On foot & by bike

Once you're at Trecco Bay, Porthcawl town centre is a 10-minute walk along the seafront. The Wales Coast Path passes right through, connecting the beach, the headland, and Rest Bay. Bikes can be hired locally for exploring further afield.
